Fiesta North Las Vegas postponed due to weather

Due to inclement weather, the first concert of the City of North Las Vegas' 2016 Tastes, Tunes and 'Toons Series has been rescheduled for Friday, May 20. The event originally was scheduled for Saturday, April 30.

Fiesta CNLV, celebrating the city's 70th birthday, now will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. May 20 at the City Hall Campus, 2250 Las Vegas Blvd., North Las Vegas.

This festival in the downtown corridor of North Las Vegas is a celebration of the diverse cuisine, music and cultures of the residents of North Las Vegas.

Admission is free. The festival will feature a multi-cultural parade to kick off the festivities, coordinated by Latina television personality, Janet Revere. Confirmed performers include Danzo Del Carrizo, Brinco del Chinelo, Matachines del Ciudad Juarez, native Aztec dancers, Brazilian Dance, and Batucada and Capoeira performers. Additionally, contestants from various Nevada beauty pageants are confirmed to participate.

Headlining the live entertainment portion of the event will be Las Vegas-based El Moreno Carrillo y su banda. A fireworks show by Pyrotechnics will kick off the performance at 8:50 p.m. Mariachi Perla de Mexico will also be performing.

The event will feature a car show and children’s activities -– all free to attendees. A diverse and appetizing selection of food and beverages will be available for purchase. There will also be various artists and merchandise vendors showcasing their wares.

This year’s event is a partnership between the City of North Las Vegas, Amerigroup, Buscando Estrella by Janet Revere, TIB Group USA, North Vista Hospital and Republic Services.

Tastes, Tunes and 'Toons will be held on the North Las Vegas City Hall campus. There will be 1/2 hour street closure on McDaniel Street during the parade from 6-6:30 p.m. Free event parking will be available at the North Las Vegas City Hall parking lot.
