Culinary Arts students from East Career and Technical Academy, Northwest Career and Technical Academy, Rancho High School, Silverado High School and Southwest Career and Technical Academy showcased their cooking talents during the third-annual “Diced!” culinary competition.

Students competed in five teams of three and put their kitchen skills to the test during this competition, where they were challenged to incorporate several mystery ingredients into their dishes. Chefs from local restaurants served as guest judges for the competition, including Chef Barry S. Dakake of N9NE Steakhouse, Chef Leticia Mitchell of Leticia’s Mexican Cocina and Chef Anthony Vidal of Hash House A-Go-Go.

Southwest Career and Technical Academy was named the winning team of this year's competition. The team's dish incorporated the two secret ingredients -- duck breast and lemongrass.
