Guitar legend and Las Vegas headliner Carlos Santana stopped by Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy Tuesday to help donate dozens of iPads for students to learn to read.

"It's incredible you know when I grew up, I basically grew up reading people 'cause I grew up in the streets of Tijuana, but now the technology that they have, it's awesome," Santana said.

Santana announced a partnership and research project between Square Panda and the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy.

Square Panda is an educational product that turns a simple tablet into a comprehensive multisensory Phonics system. Donors who are making this possible include, House of Blues, Carlos Santana and The Milagro Foundation, and Bank of Nevada.

Santana is also donating a portion of his ticket sales for the month of November from his show at the House of Blues to support Agassi Prep.

He says it's important for Las Vegas to look beyond the Strip and focus on education in the local community.
