Downtown’s 9th Bridge School will host its inaugural 9th Bridge Kidz Street festival and fundraiser presented by The Andrew Nikou Foundation, on Saturday, Oct. 8.
This family-friendly festival will feature food, live entertainment by Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, games, activities, and rides, and will showcase 9th Bridge School’s community partners.
The festival will take place downtown on a closed section of 9th Street between Lewis and Clark avenues, and Lewis Avenue between 9th and 10th streets, as well as in the parking lots on and adjacent to 9th Bridge School, located at 310 S. 9th St. The event is open to the public, and school officials hope families from around the entire Las Vegas Valley will attend.
The Kidz Street festival will include three main areas, each chosen to reflect 9th Bridge’s approach to education. The MakerSpace presented by Zappos.com will let children explore and tinker with science, technology, programming and circuitry materials. Interactive Alley will provide games, activities, a petting zoo, and more. The Food Hub will incorporate gardening and nutrition education through planting activities, a kids’ demo kitchen featuring lessons with local chefs, recipes and healthy food options.
Additionally, a community block will feature a variety of nonprofits that are associated with education, children and downtown Las Vegas.
Early Bird tickets are available until noon on Oct. 7. Prices are $25 for unlimited rides and games, $10 for entry plus $20 worth of tickets or $5 for entry and $10 worth of tickets. On the day of the event, entry will be $3 for adults and free for children, and $1 per ride or game ticket.
Event proceeds will benefit 9th Bridge School, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Tickets are available in advance here.
