Dozens of people showed up Wednesday night for the 19th annual Juneteenth Festival at Palacio Park.
The festival gave the community a chance to celebrate the achievements of African Americans and a reminder of what their ancestors went through years ago as slaves.
Gov. Sisolak has declared Juneteenth an official state holiday in Nevada.
Nevada now joins 46 other states that recognize Juneteenth as an official holiday.
