Downtown Las Vegas named most hipster neighborhood in Nevada

According to a new list published by Buzzfeed, Downtown Las Vegas is the most hipster neighborhood in the state of Nevada.

Buzzfeed published a list of the most hipster neighborhoods in every state on Oct. 7. Here is what they had to say about downtown:

Downtown Vegas is where you can escape the intense commercialism of the Strip. Bars like Velveteen Rabbit are much more hipster-friendly, with eclectic vintage decor, local art, and a craft cocktail menu that changes seasonally. The Downtown Container Park is probably the closest thing to a hipster mall you’ll get — the boutiques are made out of repurposed shipping containers, and there are no chain stores allowed.

Of course, those aren't the only two places you can find hipsters downtown.

Definition of a hipster: A person who follows the latest trends and fashions, especially those regarded as being outside the cultural mainstream.

Other hipster favorites include Park on Fremont, Atomic Liquors, eat, Le Thai, Makers & Finders Coffee, PublicUs, Commonwealth, Huntridge Tavern, Oak & Ivy inside of Downtown Container Park and the Gold Spike (hipster heaven in our opinion).

Las Vegas hipsters can also be found in the 18b Arts District, which is definitely a part of downtown but its own little area. The 18b Arts District is the site of the monthly First Friday event and is filled with art galleries, antique/thrift stores and Cockroach Theatre. It is also the actual location of Velveteen Rabbit and another popular hipster bar -- The Artifice.
