From royal courts to enchanted forests, Clark County Parks and Recreation presents the 25th Annual Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival as it returns to Sunset Park (2601 E. Sunset Rd. Las Vegas) Oct. 12-14.
Those looking to really get into the heart of the action and camp like royalty, can opt to go all out with the Preferred Plus Yurt Camping Package for $499. Camping spots are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Camping can be booked online at www.lvrenfair.com.
The festival presents various shows a day along with historical re-enactments, jousting tournaments, medieval pageantry and more than 100 artisans – including blacksmiths, stained glass designers, jewelers, wood workers, toy makers, perfume blenders, stone carvers and sword, dagger and armor craftsman. Food and drink offerings include traditional fare such as turkey legs, Shepherd’s pie, beers, ales and more. This year’s live entertainment will feature music on various stages from Tempest, Gallows Humor, Bogtrotters Union, Killian’s Angels, Whiskey Bards and Sportive Tricks.
The Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $13 per day in advance for adults ($15 day of event) and $8 per day in advance for seniors ages 60 and older as well as children ages six to 12 ($10 day of event). Children five and younger are free. Three-day passes can be purchased in advance for $30 for adults and $20 for children ages six to 12 and seniors ages 60 and older. Combo packs are also available. Event parking will be available at Del Sol High School (3100 E. Patrick Lane) beginning Friday from 6 p.m.–11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.–6 p.m., as needed. Overflow parking will be at Cannon Junior High (5850 Euclid Street) for all three days of the festival, only as needed. Free shuttle service is available to and from the festival grounds approximately every 15 minutes.
Patrons may bring one sealed bottle of water, sunscreen, blankets and still camera. Any participants in costume must have all related props or weapons peace tied, or those items will be denied at time of entry. No carry-in food or beverages, pets, lawn chairs or weapons (with or without permit) are allowed inside the festival area.
