Melinda Sheckells, lifestyle and entertainment expert and editor of On the Strip, shares recommendations on what to eat and drink this week in Las Vegas.

Breakfast is all the rage and taking over our Instagram feeds. Check out Egg Sammie in the southwest, a fast-casual breakfast spot that opened right before the pandemic hit. Available for dine in or pick up, each sammie is made to order with pillowy brioche Texas toast, cage-free eggs and decadent savory ingredients. Don’t miss the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Brunch Sammie and no order is complete without Crispy Taters and Croissant Beignets.

To Be Frank is a new ghost kitchen serving specialty hot dogs and sausages, for delivery, takeout and catering. They are open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight inside the popular downtown eatery Every Grain, located at 1430 E. Charleston Blvd. To Be Frank's menu offers an array of crafted dogs and sausages topped with artisan ingredients served on fresh, locally-baked buns. The Banh Mi dog has pork pate, seasoned mayo, pickled carrots, radish and cilantro and the Thai Dog features Isaan Thai sausage with green papaya slaw, kewpie mayo, red onion and crunchy peanuts. Other menu items to enjoy include the Greek dog, Basque dog, German potato salad and hearty chili.

Kona Grill in Boca Park still rocks after all these years–it is a westside mainstay. And the two-story patio has a convivial vibe on Friday and Saturday nights with a live DJ on the rooftop that might be one of the hottest scenes in the city. Check out the late-night happy hour Monday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to close and all day on Sundays with $3 food and drink happy hour specials.
