Sparrow + Wolf has announced they will donate $1 from every “The Dude Abides” cocktail to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and other cancer charities from today through the month of November.
The donation pledge comes in response to actor Jeff Bridges’ recently announced leukemia diagnosis. As movie fans will be aware, Bridges played “The Dude” in the film “The Big Lebowski.”
The cocktail, created by Sparrow + Wolf Bar Manager Alyssa Ocampo, takes its inspiration from the white russian drinks that The Dude favored in the film, one of Bridges’ most beloved roles.
“The Dude Abides was already a very popular drink on our brunch menu, so we really felt this was a way to do something positive,” says Ocampo.
“We were very saddened by Mr. Bridges’ announcement and we wish him a swift recovery. In the meantime, this is just a small gesture, but we hope it helps.”
