Star Wars Day, May 4, celebrates the creation of the "Star Wars" movies by George Lucas. The date was chosen for the easy pun on the catchphrase "May the Force be with you."
There are many celebrations and ways to celebrate the day in Las Vegas. Here are a few:
The House of Blues Restaurant & Bar welcomes back May the Fourth Be with You with the Empire Vs. The Rebel Alliance Party celebrating all things from a galaxy far, far away. There will two rooms with two sounds – DJ Wizdumb and Ryan Maloney, as well as Star Wars-themed food and drink specials including Bantha Milk, Jar Jar Links, Greedo Mojitos and Wampa Ribs starting at $5. Guests dressing up will receive 10 percent of their bill. Festivities begin at 6 p.m.
Rogue Toys is hosting a Star Wars party from 4 to 7 p.m. May 4. There will be food, drinks, carnival games, build-you-own lightsaber, raffles, bouncy house, a chance to win tickets to meet Ray Park (Darth Maul) and cosplay contest. Admission is free.

May the Science Be With You will premiere on May 4 at National Atomic Testing Museum. The event, happening from 4 to 8 p.m., will feature hands-on activities for all ages, DRI lab tours, science-based film screenings, live music, Jedi Padawan training, STEAM-based exhibits, food trucks and a presentation by the original creator of the Death Sta (and other spacecraft from the Star Wars movies). Museum admission will be offered at the discounted rate of $6 per person and all other activities are free.
Backstage Bar & Billiards is celebrating May the 4th with live music by 3d6, The Forget Me Nots, Dr. Phobic & The Phobic Tones and Water Landing.
The Millennium Fandom Bar is inviting everyone to celebrate May the 4th at its location. Cosplay, droids, and lightsabers are encouraged. No cover.
Head to The Artisan for the Artisan Strikes Back party on may 4. Live performances by Indigo Kidd, All-Night Visitors, Sloanwalkers, Jose Pancakes and Austin Shaddix. There will also be foam lightsaber battles, a Deathstar Disco dance off and an intergalactic photo booth.
A May the 4th cosplay contest is happening at Neonopolis at 7 p.m. $3,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. Prizes for best space-themed costume, sexist space-themed costume and more.
The Commonwealth is celebrating Star Wars Day with DJs PDOT and Charlie Darker and live performances by Jamie Boy and Nick Pacouli. $8 specialty cocktail menu.
Enjoy Star Wars themed cocktails at Minus 5 Ice Experience, such as Princess Leia (pear vodka, pineapple and cranberry juice); Chewbacca (Jägermeister, root beer schnapps, Coca-Cola and crème); and Darth Vader (Fireball, vodka, orange juice, cranberry juice and Grenadine). Guests who say "May the fourth be with you," and are wearing a Star Wars t-shirt/costume will receive a two-for-one entry.
