Las Vegas celebrates National Pasta Day on Oct. 17

October 17 is National Pasta Day. Although most people believe that the Italians invented pasta, it can actually be traced back to Asia thousands of years ago. Regardless of where it comes from, it is a favorite food for many people all over the world. Here's a list of some local pasta deals:

Buca di Beppo is celebrating World Pasta Month with a variety of dishes. Featured entrees include Shrimp Genovese from Genoa, Pappardelle Sugo from Bologna, Tortellini Bianca from Parma, and Creamy Short Rib Orecchiette from Rome. For starters, diners can enjoy Rollatini alla Norma from Sicily, ltalian Sausage Cheese Dip from Tuscany and Suppli from Rome, selections that set the tone for a culinary trip across Italy.

Head to Buddy V's Ristorante and enjoy favorites based on beloved recipes by Buddy's mom, grandmother and aunts.  big portions of Valastro Sunday gravy or Lisa’s linguine and clams with lobster.

Carmine's inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace is also celebrating National Pasta Day by offering unlimited pasta. Carmine’s will offer all you can eat penne, rigatoni, spaghetti with choices of garlic and oil, Pomodoro, marinara and vodka sauces from 2 pm – 4 pm at a cost of $25 for two people.  Advanced reservations required and can be made by calling 702.473.9700. 

Carrabba's Italian Grill is offering their delicious Spaghetti Pomodoro, Linguini Positano, and Fettucine Alfredo for only $10 on National pasta Day. During National Pasta Month, Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurants are supporting the fight against cancer with Pasta Georgio – a new addition to the menu of fresh handmade dishes inspired by the many tastes of Italy. One dollar from every order of Pasta Georgio at participating Carrabba’s Italian Grill locations will be donated to cancer research through December 31.

Esther's Kitchen is celebrating National Pasta Day on Oct. 17 by offering a special dinner prepared by Chef James Trees of Esther's Kitchen and Chef Bruce Kalman of Union in Pasadena. Menu highlights include toasted semolina cavatelli with spicy rabbit sausage, smoked burrata agnolotti, a baked pasta, smoked lasagnette with pork and porcini ragu, pasta nero alla puttanesca, barolo braised beef cheeks with house-ground polenta, and more. A la carte. Reservations strongly encouraged.

Lupo by Wolfgang Puck at Mandalay Bay is putting the spotlight on their Linguini Vontole made with linguini tossed in a white wine sauce with manila clams, sungold tomatoes and topped with herb breadcrumbs on National Pasta Day. $27.

Mercato’s linguini frutti di mare is the perfect way to celebrate this one-of-a-kind holiday. Enjoy fresh linguini tossed with black tiger shrimp, mussels, Manila clams and calamari in a rich lobster broth.

Public House’s lobster mac and cheese can be enjoyed day or night. Combining the best of both worlds, guests can celebrate National Pasta Day and National Seafood Month all in one dish.

Raos Las Vegas at Caesars Palace suggests its Sausage and Cabbage Fusilli made with sweet and mild sausage and savoy cabbage. It's toosed in a light marinara sauce and finished with extra virgin olive oil. $32.

The Seafood Linguini at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin is made with clams, saffron and braised leeks and tossed in a white wine butter sauce. $20.
