Mexican Independence Day is Sept. 16 and venues around the Las Vegas valley are celebrating in the days before and after.
Cabo Wabo Cantina at the Miracle Mile Shops
Cabo Wabo Cantina, located inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will celebrate Mexican Independence Day and National Guacamole Day with a guacamole trio, offered exclusively on Friday, Sept. 16. The CW Guacamole Trio features three guacamole creations for avocado lovers: a blue crab and micro greens guacamole; a guacamole topped with crispy applewood-smoked bacon; and a refreshing jicama and cucumber guacamole, priced at $15.95.
Guests looking for a fiesta can also enjoy selections from Cabo Wabo’s new “Half-Off” Happy Hour, offered daily from 3 to 6 p.m. The happy hour includes half-off all appetizers, house margaritas, sangria, draft beer and shots of Cabo Wabo tequila.
City of Las Vegas Senior Mexican Independence Day Celebration

In celebration of Mexican Independence Day weekend, Enrique Iglesias will play The Colosseum at Caesars Palace at 8 p.m. Sept. 16 and 17. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
The Forum Shops say it is the exclusive location for El Grito for Mexican Independence Day weekend celebration. On Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7:30 p.m., The Forum Shops will host the official opening ceremony to kick off the festivities with a celebratory ringing of the bell by a member of the Mexican Consul along with a Mariachi band and traditional folkloric dancers. The public is invited to join in on the free event to kick off the weeklong celebration. In addition, strolling mariachis and informal modeling featuring Mulberry, DKNY and Canali will take place throughout the weekend.
More than 60 retailers and restaurants within The Forum Shops will present special offerings to guests who check-in at the InVEGAS/El Grito hospitality and welcome desks and pick up an INVEGAS wristband.
Hecho en Vegas at MGM Grand
The restaurant inside the MGM Grand hotel-casino will have a special Mexican Independence Day menu from Sept. 14-18. It includes tres sopes, calabacita rellena, pork posole, chiles en nogada, Sonora style lobster and sopapillas.
Hussong's Cantina at Boca Park
Hussong’s Cantina at Boca Park is celebrating its one-year anniversary and Mexican Independence Day with food and drink specials on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17. Kicking off the weekend, guests can enjoy all-day fiesta-inspired specials on Friday, Sept. 16, such as $3 tacos, $5 nachos, $18 bottomless mimosas, along with the restaurant’s happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring $1 bottomless chips and salsa bar, $3 guacamole, $3 queso bean dip, $5 quesadillas and much more. The Sweet with Heat Guacamole brings a hot and tangy twist to the popular appetizer. Guests can choose from either a 12-inch for $16 or 18-inch for $24.
