CELEBRATE KENTUCKY DERBY AT MINUS5 ICE BAR
To celebrate the upcoming Kentucky Derby, Minus5 Ice Bar at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place and the Monte Carlo will offer Mint Juleps with a twist, served in a glass made of 100% pure ice, all within the beauty of a -5° Celsius (23° Fahrenheit) stunning ice environment. The refreshing cocktail will feature a blend of bourbon, mojito rum and topped with soda. To complete the celebration, guests will also be able to view the all-new hand-carved horse sculpture, created by Minus5’ award-wining master ice carvers, at the “coolest” bars in Las Vegas.
KENTUCKY DERBY SEMINAR AT COSMOPOLITAN -- MAY 6
If you can’t make it to Churchill Downs, but still want a piece of the betting action, the newly opened Race & Sports Book at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is the place to be. On May 6 at 1 p.m., The Cosmopolitan will host a complimentary Kentucky Derby betting seminar. Panelists will discuss the basics of horse racing and how to bet on the sport, including a review of the major bet types such as: Win, Place, Show, Exacta, and Boxed Exotic Bets. Additionally, the event will break down details about the racetrack and offer insight on the horses who qualified to race in the Kentucky Derby.

The South Point Race Book will hold a “Kentucky Derby Handicapping” seminar from 6 to 7 p.m. May 6. Hosted by John Kelly, the seminar gives race enthusiasts a preview of the competing horses with a thorough breakdown of the each horse’s racing history. This seminar features top handicappers Patrick McQuiggan and Toby Turrell. This event is free and open to the public.
KENTUCKY DERBY WEEKEND PARTY AT MONTECRISTO CIGAR BAR -- MAY 6-7
