The city of Las Vegas is celebrating its 112th birthday Monday.
The city was founded on May 15, 1905 when 110 acres of land was auctioned off, consisting of the area between the current Stewart Avenue to north, Garces Avenue to the south, Main Street to the west and Las Vegas Boulevard to the east.
