Cirque du Soleil is hosting open auditions at Lake Las Vegas Friday.

The auditions will be held at the annual Hip Hop International World Battles event, taking place at The Westin Lake Las Vegas from noon to 2 p.m. The auditions are open to the public as well as the national champions from 50 countries in Las Vegas to compete in the 15th annual World Hip Hop Dance Competition.

In addition to learning and performing a variety of challenging choreographies, dancers will each perform a two-minute piece showcasing their own styles. The casting team will be searching for those skilled in a variety of different movements including b-boying, hip-hop, head spinning, popping, whacking, stepping, jookin', bone-breaking and more. Female dancers will also be expected to perform in heels.

Selected dancers will be invited to a callback session on Saturday. At the end of the second day, the dancers who have made the final cut will be added in the Casting database as "potential artists," putting them one step closer to joining the world-famous brand. In 2013 and 2014, more than a quarter of the potential artists selected at these auditions received an offer to join Cirque du Soleil within the next two years.
