On Tuesday, Boyd Gaming announced the completion of renovations at the California Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas.

The redesign gave the casino floor a modern island vibe, complete with a gray and white color palette with bright splashes of magenta. The valet area also received an upgrade with lush paint accented by a back-lit silver sign that reads "Mahalo." And the hotel registration area was updated with white granite, gilded recessed ceilings, and gold and crystal light fixtures.

Three new food and beverage concepts were added to the hotel-casino in 2016: Holo Holo - The Happy Bar, the Cal Sports Lounge and a revitalized Redwood Steakhouse. Another restaurant, Aloha Specialties, saw a complete renovation.

The California recently began work on updating and modernizing 435 guest rooms and 56 suites in the hotel's west tower. The project is expected to be finished by early 2017.
