The lines wrapped around the building as IKEA finally opened its doors.
Eager customers were waiting in line at the new store near Durango Drive and the 215 Beltway Monday, 48 hours before the opening Wednesday morning. More were in line Tuesday night.

One person in line was even relaxing in a full-size recliner.
"Why is it so fun to do stuff like this? It's cool to just get out here. Just camp out, be with friends. Just get out here experience it and get free stuff at the end," Luiggi Lavayen said.
They were all hoping to one of the first shoppers lucky enough to get a free couch. IKEA is giving out 42 to mark its 42nd store in the United States.

The store offered more freebies for the next 100 shoppers and prizes throughout the grand opening.
IKEA has been on Las Vegas' radar for nearly a decade but the business decided to wait until the valley's population hit 2 million to make their move.
The opening had many wondering if smaller local furniture stores would be able to compete with the retail giant.
One smaller store, Colleen's Classic Consignment, says they're ready to compete. Colleen Aiken says it's important for the local stores to find their niche.
IKEA sells affordable modern furniture that may require the buyer to put it together themselves, but other smaller furniture stores across the valley don't do that. So Aiken hopes the foot traffic into IKEA will drive even more customers into her store.
"They're a complement to all of the furniture stores here in town," says Aiken. "It brings people out looking for furniture, and that's a great value to me."
