LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The annual Official Star Trek Las Vegas Convention has announced new dates and a new location.

The fan event that draws thousands of people to the Las Vegas valley each year in late July/early August will take place Dec. 9 through 13 this year.

It will also move from the Rio hotel-casino, which has been its home for many years, to the new Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip.

Statement by organizer Creating Entertainment:

During these challenging times, the safety of our Star Trek convention attendees, celebrities and staff is the utmost importance to us. We have continued to monitor the local, federal and international protocols concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, and while we had hoped that our Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas could take place in August, due to the unprecedented circumstances, we must postpone and move to a new venue.

Guest stars at the 19th annual event will include William Shatner, Walter Koenig, Kelsey Grammar and many more guests.

For fans who already have tickets, they do not have to do anything besides change their travel plans. Tickets will be transferred to the new date and updated tickets will be sent via email.
