LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Three Nevada corrections officers are being celebrated for their acts of bravery on the job.
Correction Officers Michael LaVell, Michael Val, and Sergeant Michael Florio all received Valor Awards from Corrections USA on Wednesday after saving the life of their colleague last year.
Authorities say a fellow officer suddenly stopped breathing and collapsed at Three Lakes Valley Conservation Camp on September 9, 2019. LaVell, Val and Florio jumped into action, administering chest compressions and CPR.
Their coworker survived and made a full recovery.
