13 Things To Do This Week In Las Vegas For Sept. 7-13

Here is a list of 13 things to do around the Las Vegas valley for Sept. 7-13:

1. The historic Thunderbird Boutique Hotel & Lounge will become a Polynesian party paradise this weekend. The inaugural Huka Pele Tiki Weekender is happening through Sept. 9. There will be music, dance lessons, rum, daily pool parties, movies and more.

2. The District at Green Valley Ranch is hosting a fall concert on Sept. 7 featuring local indie and soul musician Jessica Manalo. The performance is part of the center’s fall concert series which will feature a different artist each Friday and Saturday evening in September.

3. The High Roller Reining Classic Horse Show and Western Gift Show is happening Sept. 7-15 at South Point Las Vegas. Riders and horses from around the world compete to take home a piece of the competition's $700,000 purse.

4. The 2018 CasaBlanca Rib Fest is happening Sept. 7-9 in Mesquite. There will be entertainment, family-friendly games and, of course, mouth-watering ribs. Entertainers include Gregg Peterson, Comedy Machine and The Bluzmen.

5. Ms. Lauryn Hill is performing the "Miseducaton of Lauryn Hill" with Protoje and Iman Omari on Sept. 7 in The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel. And on Sept. 9, The Joint will host a celebration of 30 years of Pink Floyd.

6. AFAN's annual Black & White Party is happening Sept. 8. This year's theme is "Escape to Paradise" and it is taking place at the Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay. The party is the biggest annual fundraiser for AFAN.

7. The Lost 80's Tour is stopping at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Sept. 18. There will be 18 acts including A Flock of Seagulls, Wang Chung, Missing Persons, Oingo Boingo, Bow Wow Wow, Berlin and more.

8. The Silver State Film Festival will host the Las Vegas premiere of the award-winning underground feature film documentary "The Old Stripper" during its film festival through Sept. 9 at The Orleans hotel-casino. Independent filmmakers from around the world are participating in the fetival.  

9. It's Country Night every first Friday of the month at Place on 7th. Free line dancing lessons, drink specials and an open-air courtyard to enjoy.

10. The platinum-selling American rock band Gin Blossoms perform at the Flamingo Las Vegas GO Pool Dayclub Sept. 7. Top hits include "Hey Jealousy" and "Found Out About You."

11. It's Harry Potter Night on Sept. 12 at Bad Owl Coffee. "The Show That Shall Not Be Named" is bring a night of comedy, trivia, raffle, raffles and treats.

12. The Downtown Summerlin Summerlin Sounds concert series continues Sept. 12. Camden West with Harmon Eyes will perform on the lawn. Free admission but VIP seating available ofr $25.

13. Jimmy Eat World with The Hotelier performs Sept. 13 at Brooklyn Bowl. Jimmy Eat World is a rock band from Arizona. Their commercial breakthrough came with the release of several singles from the album "Bleed American" in 2001.
