1. Rainbow Company Youth Theatre presents "Seussical" Dec. 9 through 11 at Charleston Heights Arts Center. "Seussical" features the beloved characters The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Layze Mayzie, JoJo and more. Call 702-229-6553 for more information.
2. The Los Angeles indie-pop band Saint Motel performs Dec. 9 in the Pearl Concert Theater at The Palms. The band recently released their Elektra debut full-length album “saintmotelevision” and are in the midst of a global tour.
3. "Wild, Restless and Blue" explores the tall tales and dark corners of American roots music and the rock 'n' roll music of the '50s. The show stars Ben Hale and Zach Ryan, who have both performed in Las Vegas in the past, and will be presented Dec. 9 in the Cabaret Jazz Theater at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
4. Battle Born Slam's only show for the month of December will feature Natasha Hooper. The show will take place Dec. 9 at PublicUs. Hooper has performed on stages across the country from California to new York. She recently performed with Jasmine Mans at the infamous Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C.
5. Justin Moore's debut single was titled "Back That Thing Up." He followed it with "Small Town USA" a year later. He has produced two No. 1 albums and 5 No. 1 hit songs over 7 years. He performs Dec. 9 inside The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan.
6. Viva Ska Vegas is presenting a two-day mini festival featuring The Fighting Irie, Reel Big Fish, The Toasters, Suburban Legends, LaBanda Skalavera, Codename Rocky , Franks & Deans and more on Dec. 9 and 10 at the Fremont Country Club.
7. Debby Boone became an instant success in 1977 with the song "You Light Up My Life," a song that was No. 1 on the Billboard chart for 10 straight weeks. She released her 13th studio album in 2013. Boone performs Dec. 9 and 10 in the showroom at the Suncoast.
8. WinterFest 2016 continues Dec. 9-10 at the convention center in Henderson. There will be live entertainment, games, an art show, gingerbread houses, a festival of trees, craft vendors, food and beverages, children's activities and a light parade on Dec. 10.
9. Country music star Gary Allan performs Dec. 9 and 10 at The Joint inside the Hard Rock. Allan has won over fans, peers and critics with his signature blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics and raucous live performances.
10. Duke University and UNLV will meet for the first time in 25 years at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 10. UNLV won its only national title against Duke in 1990 and Duke captured its first national championship a year later after beating UNLV in one of the most monumental upsets in NCAA Tournament history.
11. Spring Mountain Ranch State Park will host Holiday Lights at the Ranch on Dec. 10 and 11. On those two nights, the park will stay open after sunset so visitors can enjoy the holiday decorations and lights on the Ranch House. There will also be hot cocoa, hay rides and photo stations.
12. Mercedes in the Morning's Not So Silent Night annual show will feature OneRepublic with special guest Lindsey Stirling and more. OneRepublic is known for hit songs including "Counting Stars," "Good Life" and "All the Right Moves." The show will take place Dec. 11 inside The Joint at the Hard Rock.
13. The Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular will be presented Dec. 14 in the Orleans Arena at The Orleans. The spectacular features a live orchestra performing holiday favorites, amazing acrobats and aerialists and more.
