Here are 13 things to do in Las Vegas for the week of Aug. 12 through 18:
1. An exhibit titled Real Bodies is now open at Bally's. The exhibit features 20 real, perfectly preserved human bodies and more than 200 anatomical specimens. The exhibit explores the human body through physiology, culture and emotion. The exhibit is appropriate for all ages. http://www.realbodiesatballys.com/
2. Get ready to rock with Sugar Ray, Everclear, Lit and Sponge when the Summerland Tour stops in Downtown Las Vegas on Aug. 12. Together, the four bands have produced hundreds of hit songs. Watch them on stage at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.
3. The Steve Miller Band got together in the 1960s and became famous for their psychedelic blues sound. Hit singles include "The Joker," "Livin' in the USA," "Take the Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner," "Jungle Love" and "Abracadabra.” They perform Aug. 12 inside The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan.
4. Friday Night Live at the Pool will feature Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on Aug. 12 at the Hard Rock hotel-casino. The band was formed in 1991 in Ohio. They released their final album in 2015 with a single copy being released and auctioned off.
5. Enjoy appetizers, international wines and entertainment while supporting a good cause at the One Drunk Puppy Wine Tasting Event on Aug. 13 at Silverton hotel-casino. Proceeds will benefit The Animal Foundation.
6. Aaron Carter is bringing Aaron's Party to the GO Pool at Flamingo Las Vegas on Aug. 13. Carter's career began at the age of 10. Since then, he's sold millions of albums, go on world tours, made numerous appearances on television and movies and even starred on Broadway. Must be 21 to attend the party.
7. Looking for a laugh? Celebrity Cars is hosting a night of Cars & Comedy on Aug. 13. Hosted by Phil Peredo and featuring Tommy Tallarino and Treluv. A $10 donation includes one drink.
8. This isn't something that happens every day in Las Vegas. The Dispensary Lounge is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Aug. 13. They are also celebrating the 5th anniversary of their jazz series. There will be live music and a champagne toast at midnight.
9. Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman took the beauty and the personality of the lion and have created the soulful Lion Babe. "Treat Me Like Fire" is the duo's first song collaboration and they will release their debut album soon. Lion Babe performs Aug. 13 at Brooklyn Bowl.
10. The best dance crews from around the world will be in Las Vegas to compete at the 2016 World Hip Hop Dance Championship Final at the Thomas & Mack Center on Aug. 13. Crews from more than 50 countries are participating for the world title and international bragging rights.
11. The sound of A Thousand Horses has been described as a combination of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Black Crowes and a few more wrapped in a country context. They perform Aug. 17 at Treasure Island.
12. The Fixx is a British rock band that formed in London in 1979. Their hits include "One Thing Leads to Another" and "Saved by Zero." The group is still going strong and performs around the world. They perform Aug. 18 at Brooklyn Bowl.
13. The Ruby Revue is a full-length burlesque show that celebrates the American traditions of live variety shows featuring award-winning burlesque tease. The group won the prestigious titled of "Best Troupe" at the Tournament of Tease in Las Vegas in 2014. The show takes place Aug. 18 in the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay.
