This is a list of 13 things to do around the Las Vegas valley for the week of May 5 through 11:
1. There will be multiple Cinco de Mayo celebrations around the valley on May 5. Popular party spots include Cabo Wabo, Cantina Laredo and Tacos & Tequila. There will also be celebration at this month's First Friday and block party at Texas Station.
2. It's going to be a very special game on Friday night at Cashman Field. The Las Vegas 51s will play the Tacoma Raiders and a portion of the tickets will benefit HELP of Southern Nevada. There will also be a special tennis ball toss fundraiser, prizes and a post-game fireworks display.
3. The Downtown Grand is kicking off its Citrus Summer Series with four nights of rooftop pool parties beginning May 5. Old school R&B will be featured May 4; Lorena Peril will present a tribute to Shakira on May 5; it's a tribute to Led Zeppelin by Albumpalooza on May 6; and Banda Corazona Sinaloense performs May 7. 4. The English new wave band A Flock of Seagulls, which was big in the '80s, perform May 5 at the Golden Nugget. Biggest hits include "I Ran," "Who's That Girl," "Over the Border" and "Standing in the Doorway."
5. "The Odd Couple" opens May 5 at Las Vegas Little Theatre. Florence Unger and Olive Madison are at it again in the female version of Neil Simon's play. Shows continue through May 21.
6. The Rainbow Youth Theatre and UNLV Nevada Conservatory Theatre have teamed up for a classical musical adaption of J.M. Barrie's enduring fantasy "Peter Pan." Performances are May 4-7 and 11-14 at in the Judy Bayley Theatre on UNLV's campus.
7. Tim Kasher has been pushing musical boundaries his entire career of 20 years. His third solo album "No Resolution" is no exception, delivery what is arguably his most ambitious work to date. He performs May 5 at The Bunkhouse.
8. Comedian Henry Cho performs May 5 and 6 at the South Point. Cho, who is no stranger to the Las Vegas comedy scene, is known for his clean stand-up routine.
9. Head to Spring Mountain Ranch on May 6 to Paint with a Ranger. Participants will go for a walk, find a quiet spot and paint a memory on paper. Park staff will offer basic painting instruction and provide watercolor supplies. Call 702-8756-4141 to reserve a spot.
10. The DISCOVERY Children's Museum will celebrate Coronation Day in Thailand with a Thai Festival on May 6. There will be dance performances, art, authentic food and more.
11. The Henderson Pavilion is hosting Laughter For All with Comedian Nazareth on May 6. In addition to plenty of laughs, there will also be musical performances by Nic & Jaci, Aubree Archibeck and T-Bone. Additional comics include Cizzle C and Gilbert Esquivel. Kids welcome.
12. Round 2 of The Beat League EDM Producer Beat Battle Series is going down May 7 at Beauty Bar. Lineup includes MEEK, MazeWest, EZRA, Addison Sparks, Villinz, JACKel and more. There will also be special guest performances.
13. The 28th annual San Gennaro Feast kicks off may 10 at Craig Ranch Park. The annual event features authentic Italian food, multiple vendors, a carnival, and nightly entertainment. There is also a fireworks show on May 14.
