LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A local Med Spa is bouncing back after being hit hard by the pandemic. 13 Action News Anchor Nina Porciuncula shows you how its owner's experience in the emergency room has helped the business reopen safely.

SIMPLY RADIANT MED SPA

Cosmetic and medical procedures require personal contact and in the age of social distancing Simply Radiant Med Spa owner Peggy Pruchnicki says she understands the risks.

Pruchnicki is a former emergency room nurse practitioner. "I've seen what different viruses and illnesses can do to a person so I make sure that all the staff knows how important this is, how bad this (COVID-19) could be for anybody. Not only could they get it, they can take it home to somebody who has illnesses. And it could have a deadly effect."

Simply Radiant MedSpa started out of Pruchnicki's own home 10 years ago until it grew to a six-room suite near Fort Apache and Russel roads.

"To build a business like that and be your own boss is truly amazing. We were really happy we were on a roll and then of course we had COVID-19."

But the medical spa shuttered for weeks amid the pandemic with all eight employees furloughed.

Thankfully, the business survived the closure and there's been a steady flow of clients since reopening.

"Majority of my clients have done a lot of Zoom conference calls and the remark I heard over and over with I saw myself on Zoom, I don't like what I saw," says Pruchnicki.

REOPENING WITH SAFETY PROCEDURES

New and old clients will have to follow the safety protocols in place.

Clients must stay in their cars until their appointments. Temperatures will be taken at the door. Then, the receptionist will take guide them inside to wash their hands. If a customer does not have a mask, one will be provided.

Guests can sign consent forms online prior to your appointment and all staff members wear masks and gloves.

Workers clean the rooms after each client. Each room has air filters with a UV light on.

"We’re aware of everybody’s concerns and we want to make sure everybody’s comfortable coming in. If they have any concerns, we’ll address them in any way that we do," says Pruchnicki. She says they are making sure the safety procedures are followed for the staff and clients' safety so they can continue to provide that personal touch during the ongoing pandemic.
