LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Opening a business in the midst of a pandemic is never easy but one local soul food restaurant is thriving after opening in 2020.

The owners of Pandora's Burgers say it has been possible thanks to the community.

The restaurant features everything from burgers to stuffed turkey legs to soul food Sundays.

"My mom used to always say you guys are not going to McDonald’s. You better get in the kitchen and make your burger. We are a family of six and they always wanted me to make the burger. And that's how Pandora's Burger started,” said Pandora Beaman.

Pandora and her family have given back to the valley for years and credit the tight-knit community for their success.

"I started doing events in the park. The park actually needed vendors. So, I had all this equipment in the garage and I said I'm going to be a vendor. People started coming and it created where we are today,” Beaman said.

And when Pandora's Burgers was forced to close last year due to the pandemic, it was the community's support once again that kept the business afloat.

"One day I was in the office and the phone kept ringing and I said we aren't open yet and then we opened and the rest was history,” Beaman said.

Currently, nearly one year later, Pandora's Burgers is better than ever with safe dining for all.

"I am a clean freak. So, we do sanitize every day all day."

Pandora's Burgers is located at 3131 W. Craig Road, Suite 110. Visit its Facebook page here.
