Girls Scouts of Southern Nevada hosting STEAM related career conference

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada will host its inaugural STEAM Career Conference at Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.

STEAM, which stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math,” is one of the four key pillars of Girl Scouts.
 
The event is open to all girls between sixth and 12th grade, priced at $25 for Girl Scouts and $30 for non-Girl Scouts. Participants will enjoy a series of hands-on exercises including workshops and round-table discussions with influential women and peers during scheduled breakout sessions.
 
Speakers include Lt. Col. Cynthia E. Wittnam; Lt. Col. Kaly McKenna; Jennifer Browdy, operations manager of Tesla Energy; Staci Hatch, airbus captain of Jetblue Airways; Sarah Davison, head of casting, resident shows division of Cirque du Soleil; Stephanie Wilson, owner and founder of Wicked Creative; Jeanette Schneider, senior vice president and private client advisor of US Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management; Sonia J. McTaggart-Anderson, CEO and founder of Andson, Inc.; and others.
 
All attendees will receive a STEAM Career Conference branded tote bag, professional notebook and pen set, continental breakfast and a plated lunch.
