A man recently rescued a dog from a hot car in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The man says he didn't want to break the window with a crowbar but he couldn't leave the dog in the hot car.
The Good Samaritan called 9-1-1 but then used a crowbar to break the window and rescue the dog.
The owner was cited for animal cruelty and could face jail time.
It is illegal to break a window of a vehicle in Nevada to rescue an animal. Only a first responder or someone with animal control is allowed to do so by law.
