(KTNV) — Pigeons wearing cowboy hats seen throughout Las Vegas grabbed everyone's attention last month.

It appears that someone in Reno was inspired to do something similar.
Sabra Newby, city manager for the City of Reno, tweeted photos of pigeons wearing sombreros.
Newby also sent us this statement:
This morning I spotted a pigeon that appeared to have a small sombrero stuck to its head. While quirky or fun, it’s still inhumane. The birds suffered when this exact thing happened last year in Las Vegas. One of them recently died. We don’t want copycats.
We notified Washoe County Regional Animal Services and the Nevada Department of Wildlife about the pigeon, and hope others will do the same if they see this bird or others like it.
Reno cares about our animals. They need protection and don’t need to become a punchline.

So I’m out in the field on a ride along with parking enforcement, and what do I see? It appears to be a pigeon with a sombrero.... pic.twitter.com/SOjPKw8nQ0
