A family member's Purple Heart was recently stolen during a burglary in Southern California.
The thieves took two safes from the house, one that included the Purple Heart.
"The most important thing -- my father's World War II Purple Heart was in it too. So there are some items that I cannot replace," the homeowner told ABC 7 in Los Angeles.
The homeowner told ABC 7 that the family has been devastated and that they have never been burglarized in their almost two decades in the residence.
The Gardena Police Department said in a Facebook post last week that the burglary happened in October during daytime hours.
