TMZ is reporting that "Pawn Stars" regular Johnny Jimenez Jr. has been charged with domestic violence after an incident last month.
"Pawn Stars," which is a popular reality television series on the History channel, is based on the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in downtown Las Vegas.
Jimenez is the toy expert for the pawn shop on Las Vegas Boulevard. He is also the owner of the Toy Shack, which is located inside of Neonopolis on Fremont Street.
Jimenez and his girlfriend allegedly got into a fight at a local restaurant last month.
When police arrived around 4 a.m., Jimenez was not there and his girlfriend was not talking. Police officers reviewed a surveillance video, which showed Jimenez attempting to get his drunk girlfriend to go inside of the restaurant. He reportedly pulled on her purse strap, which caused her to fall.
When interviewed by police, Jimenez told them he was trying to get his girlfriend to go inside of the restaurant to eat and sober up. He claims that he did not mean for her to fall when he pulled her purse strap.
Jimenez told TMZ the video clearly shows he was only trying to help.
Jimenez provided the following statement to Action News:
My Statement in regards to the TMZ report.
We arrived to the Casino at 4am to go to our room after my birthday party with family and friends, my girlfriend was extremely intoxicated. I should of just went to the room but was trying to get my girlfriend food to sober up and the was really hard to do. The cameras will show on multiple occasions me picking her up off the floor. She was wearing 4" stiletto boots on top of being drunk.
I was holding her hands and purse attached to her to keep her standing there was no argument whatsoever. I did what any other guy in the world would do when your taking care of a intoxicated person. The video footage will show clearly the truth and I'm really disappointed that that the police here could not get the facts before they put someone in handcuffs.
I know by looks I'm a scary big guy with a shaved head but anyone who knows me knows I'm a single dad who takes care of his friends family and have been nothing but good to my girlfriend.
