A Virginia woman, Ashley Cooper, took to Facebook Live when two mall security guards attempted to stop her from breastfeeding her hungry child.

"My baby was screaming because she's hungry, so I'm on a bench trying to feed her discreetly and security has just informed me, I have to go into a nursing room," said Cooper.

Cooper was well aware of her right to breastfeed in the mall and let the security guards know as much.

"I informed them that in the state of Virginia breast feeding mothers can nurse anywhere they're legally allowed to be and they are trying to tell me I cannot feed my baby on a bench in the corner."

Her Facebook Live video has since gone viral and the mall has apologized for their conduct. The mall has assured Cooper that their employees will obtain more training to ensure this situation doesn't happen again.
