Welcome to the Las Vegas Ruins. Wait what? That doesn't sound right.
In a teaser trailer for "Independence Day: Resurgence," the Las Vegas Ruins are promoted as a tourist destination, despite the city being destroyed by an alien warship in the original 1996 film.
"On July 4, 1996, aliens attacked our planet, but they did not destroy the spirit of Las Vegas," the narrator said in the video. "Come discover Las Vegas, reborn from its ruins. Enjoy all the excitement of classic gambling on authentic casino tables and machines excavated from the ruins, refurbished to perfect working order."
The Ruins tourists can "let off some steam" by visiting the gun range, including the "War of 1996" alien technology package, referring to the first movie.
A couple is seen getting married to an Elvis impersonator, in front of the crashed alien ship and the decimated city.
The trailer finishes with a twist on the famous slogan, "What happened in Las Vegas will never be forgotten" before promoting various vacation packages available.
"Independence Day: Resurgence" will be released Friday, June 24.
