A 6-year-old and her dog are feeling safer thanks to a Kansas City police captain.
It all started when Capt. Danny Graves was responding to a homicide in little Zion's neighborhood. He noticed Zion holding her dog, terrified by the police activity.
This lead to a conversation and the captain made a promise.
"I made her a promise... that I was gonna bring her a dog house."
With the help of a local nonprofit, Captain Graves was able to fulfill it.
He says he hopes the new dog house will bring Zion and her dog a little more comfort.
