There is a new challenge that is going viral on social media and it is one that could be dangerous.
It is called the Banana Peel Challenge.
It was reportedly started by a Twitter user named Jason Oakes. According to his post, Oakes wanted to see if banana peel were really as slippery as they appear in classic cartoons.

But, experts say that the Banana Peel Challenge is no laughing matter and it won't be long before someone is badly hurt.
“They see the attention other kids get and it seems like a good idea at the time,” clinical psychologist Dena Rabinowitz told ABC News. “Adolescents often think they’re invincible or immortal so they just don’t think they’re the ones who are going to get hurt.”
These sort of challenges are quite common among youngsters online, who often view themselves as invinceable. Experts are advising parents to have frank discussions with their children about participating in such challenges.
