LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Tonight is a good night to take a moment and look up at the sky.
According to NASA, the next full Moon -- the Hunter's Moon -- peaks on Oct. 13 and will appear full for about three days centered on this time, from Saturday morning to Tuesday morning.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, with the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it is time to hunt. Since the harvesters have reaped the fields, hunters can easily see the animals that have come out to glean (and the foxes that have come out to prey on them). The earliest use of the term "Hunter's Moon" cited in the Oxford English Dictionary is from 1710.
Upcoming full moons in 2019, according to NASA:
- Oct. 13 -- Hunter's Moon
- Nov. 12 -- Beaver Moon
- Dec. 12 -- Cold Moon
