The Food and Drug Administration is urging caution for anyone thinking about trying cryotherapy.
In a consumer update Tuesday, the FDA has not cleared or approved cryotherapy, saying it does not have any evidence it effectively treats conditions, such as arthritis, depression or weight loss.
Cryotherapy treatment includes spending a few minutes inside a freezing tank as liquid nitrogen is released to cool down the body.
The treatment made headlines in Las Vegas after a woman froze to death inside one of the chambers.
