Australian police say a truck smashed into two police cars that had stopped a speeding driver on a Melbourne freeway, killing four officers. It was the largest loss of police lives in a single incident in Victoria state. Police say the officers had pulled over the driver of a Porsche 911 for speeding and were in an emergency stopping lane arranging to impound the car when they were struck by a refrigerated truck. All police present -- three men and woman -- died at the scene. The driver of the truck was hospitalized, while the Porsche driver fled on foot but later turned himself into police.
