UPDATE: Arrest made in deadly stabbing of woman

UPDATE: On May 19, around 10:00 a.m., detectives with the Criminal Apprehension Team located Garcia in the area of Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway where he was taken into custody without incident.

Garcia was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he faces one charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A woman's body was discovered Friday afternoon in the 5500 block of Hobble Creek, near Russell Road and Nellis Boulevard.

Police received a call at 2:28 p.m. 

An investigation indicates that the victim was stabbed multiple times. She had been dead for several days. Police believe the incident could be domestic-related.

The woman was identified as 53-year-old Linda Wise of Las Vegas. She died of a stab wound to the neck in the living room of her residence.

54-year-old Michael Garcia has been identified as a person of interest in this case. He was in a dating relationship with the victim at the time of her death.
