A 28-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a taxi on the Las Vegas Strip on Friday. It happened just before 2 a.m. in front of the Bellagio hotel-casino.
Police say that the woman entered a crosswalk against a red traffic signal when she was struck. The taxi driver remained on scene and is unlikely to face charges. There were also passengers inside the taxi at the time of the incident.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard were closed until about 6:20 a.m.
