ORIGINAL STORY
Police say witnesses reported a man dragging what appeared to be a woman's body out of a motel room near Downtown Las Vegas on June 5.
The woman's body remained uncovered and visible for quite some time outside of the Desert Star Motel on 1210 Las Vegas Boulevard South near Charleston Boulevard.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said they aren't ready to call the woman's death a homicide.
Officers say a crossbow was found in the room but it wasn't involved in the death of the woman. They also confirmed that the woman was staying at the motel at the time of her death.
Detectives are investigating claims of facial trauma to the woman but Lt. Spence doesn't believe it to be serious.
The man who allegedly dragged the woman out of the room is detained and is being questioned by detectives.
