Once the Henderson Fire Department arrived Trooper Rodriguez moved further down the fence to keep the female from moving further over the US95.
In an attempt to secure the female, Rodriguez had to let go of the fence with both hands and applied a handcuff to the female’s wrist and affixing the second cuff to the fence.
Fire Department personal then used a ladder truck to retrieve the female. She was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. No charges were filed.
“This was an amazing act of heroism. This is what I call above and beyond the call of duty. Trooper Rodriguez disregarded his own personal safety to save a citizen of the community who he did not know. The female was clearly having one of the worst days of her life, suffering severe mental distress and Trooper Rodriguez decided to take immediate action to save her life. Trooper Rodriguez showed compassion and had the mindset that this female was going to be safe under his watch. Trooper Rodriguez’s action are commendable and remarkable,” Trooper Jason Buratczuk
