Agenda Item 5.01 Differentiated School Support Framework

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees received a presentation on CCSD’s Differentiated School Support Framework that focuses on student support priority areas and staff priority areas with the ultimate goal of student success.

Student Success Priority Areas

  • Achievement in Core Content Areas
  • Achievement Gaps
  • Access and Equity
  • Safety and Engagement

Teachers, Principals, and Staff Priority Areas

  • Highly Effective Teachers, Leaders and Staff

The Differentiated School Support Framework focuses on student achievement, continuous school improvement, support and services, accountability, and a common language for the work.

Additionally, the presentation included levers to improve student achievement from “Leverage Leadership 2.0: A Practical Guide to Building Exceptional Schools” by Paul Bambrick-Santoyo. The levers include:

Agenda Item 5.02 Public Hearing On and Possible Approval of the Third Appendix to the New Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Reopening of Schools and other Worksites in Covid-19 Environment between the Clark County School District and the Education Support Employees Association.

The Board approved a Memorandum of Agreement with the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) regarding compensation for mileage and pay with regard to employees complying with the mandatory testing directive for COVID-19 testing.

Employees will be compensated for their mileage and time, at the overtime rate when appropriate, for complying with the COVID-19 testing directive that was established for employees not vaccinated in August 2021.

Additionally, employees may during their regular contract hours with prior supervisory approval and coordination receive their regular compensation for all travel and mandatory test time.

Agenda Item 5.03 Public Hearing On and Possible Approval of the Fourth Appendix to the New Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Reopening of Schools and other Worksites in Covid-19 Environment between the Clark County School District and the Education Support Employees Association

Trustees approved a Memorandum of Agreement with ESEA that provides Specialized Programs Teacher Assistants (SPTAs) who are assigned to Helen J. Stewart School, Variety School, John F. Miller School or Miley Achievement Center a stipend of $1,000. Also, SPTAs assigned to work one-on-one with special education students will receive a stipend of $750.00

Agenda Item 5.04 Clark County Education Association Presentation Regarding Teachers Health Trust

The Board received a presentation from the Clark County Education Association (CCEA) regarding THT administration changes, governance changes as well as an update on funding levels for THT.
