A Facebook post helped Las Vegas police track down a teen who smashed the window of a police car.
Adam Triplett told 13 Action News he thought he would be caught before he posted the video over the weekend.
"I was like I might as well post it and get this clout before I, before I do get caught up," Triplett said.
The video was recorded at Ogden Avenue and North 1st Street.
Triplett says he had just left First Friday with some friends when they saw the police cars.
He says he jumped up on the first and took a selfie that was later posted with an emoji covering his face.
Triplett then says he took a second selfie on a different police car before recording what he did to the third.
"I thought they yelled the police were watching. That's why you see me jump off, and then I turned around and there was no one there so I got on and fell back. My intentions weren't to break the window," Triplett said.
Police eventually tracked the teen down and arrested him on Tuesday.
"At the end of the day, what I did was stupid on my part. It is a cop car. I've got to accept the consequences and move on," Triplett said.
Triplett is due in court on Nov. 14.
