ORIGINAL STORY
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- At Jiffy Smog near Sahara and Eastern avenues, a smog technician was robbed in the middle of the day Saturday.
Just before 3:30 p.m., a man went to the smog station asking about how a car gets its smog check. The man left, then returned a few minutes later with a gun.
Surveillance video shows the man walking into the small smog check building with a gun asking for money. Even after the technician gives him the money, he threatens him, stealing his phone so he couldn't call for help. He also had the gun pointed directly into his stomach.
"Mother f*****, sit down and look at the wall, and don't say s***," the robber yelled.
The technician had to get help through the computer inside the smog station.
Since the attack, he's been too scared to come back to work because the suspect is still on the loose.
At one point, he looked directly at the camera.
Owner Lou Gardella says he only got away with a few hundred dollars, and that robberies of smog shops aren't that common because most people pay with cards and they don't have much cash on hand.
