LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a 94-year-old Clark County Detention Center inmate passed away Tuesday at the University Medical Center.
Authorities said the inmate was transported to UMC back on Jan. 16 and was receiving medical treatment before medical personnel pronounced the 94-year-old deceased.
Court and detention center records connect the inmate to Robert Thomas.
He was facing multiple charges that included attempted murder with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with a deadly weapon, and discharging a gun within a structure within a prohibited area.
The charges stemmed from an incident on January 2, where police said Thomas was involved in a shooting after confronting an employee at an apartment complex.

Thomas was taken into custody after he reportedly went to the apartment office because he was upset about water damage and flooding in his apartment.
The person injured in the shooting was treated at a hospital at the time of the situation.
Thomas was said not to have any family in Las Vegas, and the Clark County Coroner's office is expected to confirm his death after they are contacted.
