LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A cashier is being dubbed a hero and Las Vegas police are searching for a suspect, following an early morning shooting at a gas station near the SLS Hotel and Casino.

Officers responded to a 911 call at Big Daddy's Oil near Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue just before 1:45 a.m.

When police arrived, bullet holes were found on the building and on gas pumps at the station. Despite the damage, nobody was hurt during the incident.

The owner of the store, Frank, tells 13 Action News that the cashier on duty is a hero.

Frank says the cashier quietly led a customer to the back of the store to lay low as shots fired at the building.

"For him to be that calm and collected. He's a hero. He's an absolute hero."

Police are searching for a white, small car that possibly belongs to the suspect.

The car was last seen leaving the gas station parking lot around the time of the shooting and driving southbound to an apartment complex on Swenson Street near Twain Avenue.

Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
