Dozens of huge rats are taking over a family's home near Washington Avenue and Buffalo Drive.
Red Rock Pest Control says they are not alone and it is a big problem all over Las Vegas.
"They're everywhere," said Tammy Graves.
Friends and relatives attest to the issue. They say it's been going on for three years.
"It started as mice and they've literally become small farm animals," said friend Brandy Jackson.
Graves and Jackson say the rats have been multiplying and reproducing for a few years now. The family says they have tried everything, including exterminators and $2,000 worth of rat traps.
"The largest was probably the size of a ferret," said Jackson.
Graves says she and her kids hide upstairs from 5 p.m. until the morning when the rats seem to have disappeared into the walls for the day. The family even has to kick the rodents out of the bathroom.
"They're in there like frolicking in the tub and you have to wait and give them a chance to get out so you can get in," said Jackson.
Graves says her landlord won't help. 13 Action News reached out to the company but hasn't heard back yet.
Red Rock Pest Control plans on helping the family out by checking out the problem next week.
