USA Basketball fans face hours of delays getting into T-Mobile Arena

Posted
Hundreds of people waiting hours to go inside the new T-Mobile Arena Friday night caused some frustration surrounding the USA Basketball exhibition game.

"It just was way too hot for a mismanaged event," Ann Garnaas said, a fan who didn't get into the game at all with her friends and family.

MGM Resorts apologized for the delays in a statement, saying the box office wasn't able to fulfill the enormous volume of will-call and on-site ticket purchases.

John and Tina Corker are visiting from England. They said waiting in line isn't how they wanted to spend their vacation.

"We just stood there," John Corker said. "It was hot obviously. We're from England; we're not used to the heat."

Garnaas was disappointed by the lines as well.

"They knew basketball is coming to Vegas," she said. "This is a huge tournament, so it's not like they were caught by surprise."

Garnaas said they're going to try to come again next year.

MGM says people who didn't get in to see the game will be offered a full refund.
