LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Ukrainian family was on a harrowing journey to bring a new life into the world.

Tetiana Kosheva-Zaichuk was four months pregnant when she and her husband, Sasha Zaichuk, fled their war torn country to find the help they needed to give birth to their baby boy.

With a friend's help, Sasha contacted Dr. Paul Wilkes, with Desert Perinatal Associates.

Dr. Wilkes agreed to help the Zaichuk family once they made it to Las Vegas.

On Saturday, July 23, Baby Mykita was born at Southern Hills Hospital.
