Uber wants it drivers to sign an agreement barring them from participating in class action lawsuits against the ridesharing company.
The new legal agreement was issued two days after a judge expanded a California class action suit against Uber. The lawsuit is aimed at defining drivers as employees, which could make drivers eligible for reimbursement for expenses accrued while working for Uber.
Uber said the new agreement will only apply to drivers who began driving for the company after Friday and did not choose to opt out of the initial arbitration clause.
